I have spent much of the past five years investigating various ways of investment, development, and improving the prospects of my own family. It started very simply with a failure in investment of antiques, but they say that we all learn by our failures.
For some time after that I had a very succesful ebay business, but it became difficult to manage and the margin deminished as I had to employ more staff. In the end I closed the business in search of pastures new.
Later I supplemented my regular income as an illustrator and graphic designer, very succesfully. This continues to be a hobby and I can’t see it being anything more or less than a hobby, all be it a very lucrative one. So why the interest in buy-to-let mortgaging and remortgaging?

I am dyslexic, as you might notice from some of the spellings on this site. I have never let it hinder me though, and whenever there is a chance for me to tackle the challenge head on and beat what some people would consider as a dysability (I wouldn’t, but that is another matter!) I take it. For instance, whilst holding down one full time carreer and enjoying being an artist, I am also a husband, a father to two great sons, and I am studying at university. Dyslexia? Well I am officially in the top third of those who have a recognised difficulty, but seem to be pulling mostly firsts off my papers! It’s a challenge I rise to. I have never been able to get my head around mortgaging and remortgaging, let alone money, though I have always dreamed of both building my own home, and being able to rent out properties. Becoming a very fair landlord! But the numbers seemed to get in the way.
However I decided a short while ago that if it was difficult for me to understand mortgages and the like, then I should get my finger out and tackle it. To give you an idea of how bad it is, I have spent the last 20 years with my wife looking at what new mortgage we should take out some 10 times! And every time it all went over my head. Well no more! From now on, I will understand it.
This website is something of my own research, and although I have been lazy in using other people’s articles from a recognised publisher (exinearticles.com) I recognise that there contribution is probably better put across than mine could ever be.
